As the daughter of German immigrants, I was always taught to give back to the country that has given us so much. Whether by mentoring kids after school, working with the Open Door Soup Kitchen, or raising money for women's health issues, serving our community is my life's passion. Now, I have taken that passion into public service by serving on the City-County Council, District 4. As your councilwoman, I am working hard to find solutions for the pressing needs of our neighborhoods: skyrocketing taxes, rising crime and an overall lack of faith in our elected officials.

My husband is a radiologist with the St. Francis Hospital Systems. We have been married for over 30 years. I have been also been a member of the same church for 30 years. Those years brought challenges and frustrations but we worked through them. I believe this demonstrates a level of commitment to overcoming challenges and resolving problems, as well as is an indication of loyalty. Our oldest son, Andrew, age 25, graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in May and has accepted a church pastor call. Son, William, age 23, is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and is working on post graduate studies. Joseph is a junior at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

I currently serve on the Public Safety, Public Works Parks and Recreation Committees, as well as the Internal Audit and Space Allocation Committee. I am also a board member of the United Northeast Community Development Corporation. It is community group whose goal is to work with the city to revitalize hurting urban neighborhoods, provide homeowner repair assistance and partner with business to help develop their service area, economically.
